The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China and the National Standards Commission have approved the release of the National Standard for the Production Management of Frozen Fruits and Vegetables, which puts forward specific specifications and requirements for the processing of frozen fruits and vegetables from the aspects of processing materials, equipment and facilities, hygiene, production process, and quality control. The Standard will be implemented from March 11, 2015.
In terms of raw material requirements, the "Standard" clearly states that fruit and vegetable raw materials for quick freezing processing should be fresh and undamaged; In terms of equipment and facilities requirements, it is required that frozen processing enterprises have mechanized (or semi mechanized) processing conditions; In terms of hygiene requirements, in addition to clarifying the common requirements for food hygiene, special provisions are also made for the hygiene requirements that should be paid attention to when engaging in food quick freezing processing: the equipped toilets, hand washing and disinfection facilities, and hygiene management of production operations should comply with the requirements specified in Appendix D of the HACCP Application Guidelines for Quick Frozen Food Production GB/T25007. The selected requirements, detergents, and disinfectants should respectively comply with the requirements specified in GB14930.1 and GB14930.2 of the National Food Safety Standard Disinfectants; In terms of production process control and intelligent management, the temperature and time required for quick freezing of different types of fruits and vegetables should be clearly defined based on the characteristics of the raw materials. At the same time, strict requirements should be made for product inspection, temporary storage, transportation, and sales.
The implementation of this standard will effectively promote the improvement of fruit and vegetable quick freezing processing technology, and also help to improve the utilization rate of fruits and vegetables, meet the diverse needs of consumers, and is of great significance for stabilizing and increasing the income of farmers.
